A leading Lloyd’s market insurer is seeking a Head of Security Engineering to lead and evolve its cyber security engineering capability.

This senior role sits within Engineering, with close alignment to Information Security, and is responsible for setting strategy, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring robust security across cloud and on-prem environments.

What you’ll do

• Own and deliver the Security Engineering strategy aligned to business and cyber objectives
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of senior security engineers
• Oversee secure infrastructure design across cloud and on-prem platforms
• Support threat detection, SIEM capability, and incident response
• Manage third-party partners and vendor performance
• Act as a trusted security advisor to senior stakeholders

What we’re looking for

• Proven leadership experience in security engineering
• Strong technical background in cloud and infrastructure security
• Experience operating in regulated environments (insurance or financial services preferred)
• Confident engaging with senior business and technology leaders
• Strategic, delivery-focused, and resilient under pressure
